SOFT Smiles™ offers professional and family caregivers valuable, specialized oral health training programs designed to take the mystery out of providing efficient, effective daily oral care of special needs patients. Our hands-on training programs will equip the caregiver with the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to reduce oral infection and improve the patients' quality of life. We also provide oral health education to independent seniors and special interest groups.
SOFT Smiles™ is a specialized oral health training program designed to assist professional and family caregivers in meeting the daily oral care needs of geriatric patients between professional visits. By providing this care more effectively and efficiently, health benefits to the patient can extend beyond the oral cavity.
With a Masters Degree in Training and Development and over 30 years’ experience as a Dental Hygienist, Pam Cushenan has developed in-depth senior and special needs oral training programs that combine various learning methods to provide caregivers the opportunity to transfer new skills to their patients. Programs include oral care for patients with cognitive impairment, intellectual disability, Down's Syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy, and age-related issues.
Our goal: SOFT Smiles™ program used in every assistive care setting to improve the health and welfare of our aging and special needs population.
